Code Division Multiple Access separates users by distinct spreading codes transmitted over the same frequency band. It supports simultaneous access, interference averaging, ranging, and flexible capacity allocation. The number of users is not limited by the number of time or frequency slots, and SNR gracefully degrades as the number of users is increased.
