After the development and implementation of a GIS within an organization, the challenge is to maintain the system and revise and update it when necessary. This means the performance of the GIS in terms of efficiency and effectiveness should be measured and monitoring, and feedback from users on the system and applications, on the data as well as on new needs should be collected. Particular attention should be paid to the maintenance of data sets.
