[IP3-7-4-2] Planar geometric features

The most important geometric features of geographic objects are their size and shape. Shape refers to general form or outline of individual objects and can be quantified using different metric such as shape index, compactness, asymmetry, density, elliptic fit, roundness, rectangular fit etc.
