[IP3-1-1-2] LAI (Leaf Area Index)

Leaf area index (LAI) is the ratio between the total area of the upper leaf surface of vegetation and the surface area of the pixel in question. LAI is a dimensionless value, typically ranging between 0 (for a pixel composed of bare soil) and values as high as 6 (for a dense forest).
