[PP2-3-7-2] Range (far and near) direction

The range direction corresponds to the direction perpendicular to the flight direction. It is also called across-track direction. One distinguishes between slant and ground range, and between near and far range (situated farther away from the sensor and showing shallower looking angle than in near range due to viewing geometry).
