[PP1-5-8] Elements of the theory of interference and interferometers

Optical interferometers are nowadays used to develop and implement Fourier Transform Spectrometers, which can measure the emission spectrum of a given source with high spectral resolution at a constant sampling. This instrumentation is now at the core of modern hyperspectral sounders from satellite and have opened the way to the sounding of the Earth atmosphere with unprecedented spatial vertical resolution.
