SQL is the "standard" to perform spatial and non-spatial queries in databases. That means each student in a GI related course has to be familiar with the main aspects if it: - Motivation, history, overview - Data definition language DDL - Data manipulation language DML - Data control language DCL - Spatial extensions of SQL
