applying seeds to soil in order to grow a new plant
You can grow both ornamental plants and vegetables from seeds. Most gardeners associate sowing with spring, but you can also sow in autumn. Recently, I have been sowing winter lettuce. It is not very tall yet; we hope it will increase in size soon.
Autumn is also a good season to collect seeds to grow next year. This year, I have been growing Cleome spinosa (Dutch: Kattensnor) for the first time. I want to collect seeds to sow them again in spring.
It is also great fun to collect seeds from vegetables and fruits and grow small plants out of them. My daughter has been planting lemon seeds from early spring and now has a collection of small citrus trees.
